A Message From Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin to the Limestone County Community

Our county experienced devastation last night as an EF1 tornado ripped through downtown Athens. We are so incredibly blessed that we did not experience any loss of life.

Time and again, I’ve witnessed the incredible spirit of this community as we’ve faced adversity together, and last night and today are no different. Whether through hardship, loss, or challenge, we always show what true resilience looks like.

In times of crisis, we always come together to lift each other up, offer help, and never back down. Your compassion, selflessness, and commitment to one another, shown last night and today, make this community a beacon of hope and unity.

As your sheriff, I am honored to serve a community that exemplifies what it means to persevere, be there for one another, and stand strong in the face of whatever comes our way. Your strength inspires me and every member of your Limestone County Sheriff’s Office!
