Maury County Woman Charged with Murder of 22-Month-Old Child

A Maury County woman is charged with four charges in response to the death of her 22-month-old child. Kaedyn Ward, 21, is charged with First Degree Murder,

Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Abuse and Neglect (If Violent), and Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect.

The case dates back to the initial arrest of Damarian Treman Waters, 20, on October 19th who was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. When investigators arrived at the scene,

the child was found unresponsive and transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where the child did not survive the intense injuries. Witness had reported the injuries had occurred when the child was left in the care of Waters.

There were two encounters, one occurring in July and the other in October that led to extreme harm to the child. After the investigation, the case yielded more evidence to the mother. Ward is being held in Maury County Jail with a $750,000 bond.
