Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a pardon for Country Music Star Jelly Roll that steamed from a 2010 drug and robbery conviction.

The grant of clemency comes following a unanimous recommendation from the Tennessee board of parole and thorough a review process acknowledging his redemption, advocacy, and positive transformation into a musical success story.

Jelly Roll who was convicted of robbery in 2002 and then convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute while on probation, was recommended to receive a pardon by the Tennessee board of parole, two decades after his crimes.

Jelly Roll who Rose to fame for his music in 2022 and has spoken openly about his record, has used his platform to testify before Congress about the dangers of fentanyl, and advocate for mental health services for and provide a music studio for those in juvenile detention in nashville.

There was also a total of 33 persons to receive pardons that share similar background and each person received a pardon after at least five years of living freely in their community, while abiding the laws and having no further convictions.
