A child tragically lost their life after falling from a float at the Mt. Juliet Christmas Parade.

 

The tragic accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. on Saturday at the end of the Mt. Juliet Christmas Parade where a 7 year old boy fell of a float trailer, and was struck by the trailer towed by a pickup truck.

Emergency personnel was dispatched to the rear parking lot of the Mt. Juliet Middle School where the ambulance carrying the child, and his mother was escorted through the parade to a nearby hospital.

The Mt. Juliet police department stated that the Tennessee Highway Patrol would be investigating the accident where THP released a statement following the accident that the 7 year old boy sadly passed away from his injuries.

At this time the THP hasn't released any further details regarding the tragic accident.

The community came together on Sunday to hold a candlelight vigil for the boy, and his family.
