For Immediate Release:
December 14th at 11:00 PM Lawrenceburg Fire crews were dispatched to the Best Western Plus for a fire alarm activation.

When crews arrived, active fire conditions were found in a pool mechanical room.
The fire sprinkler system was active in the room and had contained the fire.
Lawrenceburg Police Department, Tn assisted in evacuation of the hotel occupants, while fire crews ensured the fire was extinguished, and ventilated. After investigation, it was determined a pool heater pump had caught fire in the pool mechanical room.
The fire sprinkler activated, and functioned properly, containing the fire to the room of origin. No injuries were reported, and hotel occupants were allowed to return to their rooms.
This incident is a prime example of the need for fire alarm/sprinkler systems. When maintained, these systems will likely alert occupants during the initial phase of a fire and contain the fire to the room of origin.
Thankfully this system functioned just as it should, not only saving lives but keeping damage to a minimum.
