1 shot in Maury County, 1 in custody

MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person was shot multiple times and another was taken into custody after a shooting in Maury County.

The Maury County Sheriff’s Department reported the shooting happened during the overnight hours of Thursday along Bluegrass Drive, which is a residential area.

The condition of the victim was not released but the sheriff’s department noted they “sustained multiple gunshot injuries.”

The person responsible for the shooting was taken into custody, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Residents may see an increased law enforcement presence in the area as deputies work to process the scene, gather evidence and complete the investigation.
