Lawrence County Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident where 3 medical transport helicopters landed on the scene.

 

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue released the following information and photos:

"12-11-2023

At approximately 4:20 PM Lawrence County Fire Rescue Units were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with on patient confirmed to be ejected in the Iron City Fire District. First arriving units reported three critical patients.

One patient was confirmed to be ejected, and one of the patients was confirmed to be pinned inside the vehicle. Our units quickly extricated the trapped patient while providing patient care until EMS arrived. Once EMS arrived our personnel assisted EMS with further patient care.

Three medical transport helicopters landed on the scene to transport the critical patients. This call did exhaust many resources. Personnel from law enforcement,EMS, and Fire worked together diligently to provide the best possible outcome for the patients.

Less than 10 minutes after the MVA was dispatched in the Iron City Fire District a second MVA was dispatched. The second MVA was reported in the New Prospect Fire District, and was reported to involve a commercial vehicle and a farm tractor. Units responded immediately to the scene and assisted with patient care. Units also mitigated both potential and existing hazards on the scene."
