Crews to search along Duck River for evidence related to Franklin’s first homicide of 2025

MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A boat ramp in Maury County will be closed Wednesday as authorities search for evidence related to a homicide that occurred earlier this year, officials said.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the boat ramp and access area at Iron Bridge Road on the Duck River will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 10 and will reopen Dec. 11.

The TWRA said the closure is in response to a request made by the Franklin Police Department, who will reportedly have divers in the immediate area on Wednesday.

In a statement to News 2, the FPD said divers will be searching for potential evidence related to the death of 32-year-old Lattarius Johnson.

Johnson was shot in the area of Valor Court in Franklin on Feb. 11. The shooting marked Franklin’s first homicide of 2025.

Days after the deadly shooting, the FPD announced that 37-year-old Robert Lee Fitzgerald was taken into custody for his connection with Johnson’s death. Fitzgerald was charged with criminal homicide and booked into the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.No additional details about Wednesday’s search were immediately released.
