A real life Grinch steals a Grinch decoration from one woman's porch in Tennessee.

This suspected thief, who did not need a sleigh or a dog to steal holiday spirit, swiped a five-foot Grinch off a porch in a Goodlettsville, Tennessee neighborhood.

Beki Rowland said her Grinch stood proud on a porch until Saturday morning.

“It was pretty comical,” Rowland said. “Hops on my porch and just straight up picks up my Grinch and then high-tails it back out here where he was parked right there under the light.

The suspect did not slither down a chimney; instead, they slipped into her yard covered head to toe. It happened Saturday just after 3:10 a.m.

First, the suspect reached for a wreath, then hauled away the whole Grinch statue in seconds.

“I noticed it about ten in the morning, and honestly, I drove around a little while looking just to see if I could find the van,” Rowland said.

For two years, that five-foot Grinch has been the star of her porch. But it is more than a holiday decoration, for Beki, its glowing heart symbolized her own.

“I had a stroke in November of 2023, so little over two years ago, and that year I didn’t get to decorate for Christmas,” she said. “I was also going to have to have heart surgery, and so it just clicked with me. And it just meant something to me.”

Rowland is hoping her Grinch finds its way home.

“If you had asked me for the Grinch, I would have told you no, but I also would have turned around and given you something else,” she said. “Not my Grinch. I just want my Grinch back. If you have it, just take it to the cops. Drop it off.”

And maybe this local Grinch’s heart grows a few sizes along the way.

“Merry Christmas to everybody except this guy,” Rowland told News 2.
