26th Annual Santa for Seniors drive in desperate need of donations

The Twenty-sixth Annual Santa for Seniors Christmas drive is quickly drawing to a close and is in desperate need of additional donations. In order to have enough to provide packages for all of this year’s recipients,

we have a great need for nonperishable food, personal care and household items, along with blankets, throws, heaters, and other items. Several smaller lists of specific items requested by this year’s recipients are posted on our Santa for Seniors Facebook page. Just visit our page and scroll down to see all of the different lists. The goal of the Santa for Seniors program is to provide necessities and holiday gifts forLawrence County's senior citizens, handicapped and shut-ins.

Since our applicants are living on very fixed incomes, we are hopeful that the items they receive will help to sustain them through the winter so that they might focus their resources on heating bills, medications and other necessities.

Those who wish to donate may drop off items at The Lawrence County Advocate, located at 121 North Military Avenue, or at WLX, located at 1212 North Locust Avenue in Lawrenceburg. The deadline for donations is Monday, December 12.
