Lawrence County Deputies conducted a traffic stop after witnessing a distracted driver that resulted in a drug bust.

 

Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies initiated a traffic stop along Highway 43 North after observing the driver on his cellphone while behind the wheel, and once contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle the smell of marijuana was detected.

A search of the vehicle was conducted where deputies found two bags of marijuana, two syringes, and a substance believed to be methamphetamine inside of a rolled up ten dollar bill.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on multiple drug charges for the items seized where he was transported to the Lawrence County jail.
