On November 26th at approximately 12:51 PM Giles County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible deceased person on Ichabod Lane in Giles County.

Shortly after units arrived on scene there was a white male (later identified as Darren Cody Gambrel) found deceased lying beside a pole barn.

Based on the evidence there, it was determined the victim had likely been stabbed and placed beside the barn after he was deceased.

After a lengthy multi-agency investigation there was enough evidence to arrest Adam Arthur Rosenthal. Rosenthal was charged with Criminal homicide, Aggravated assault resulting in death, and tampering with evidence. Also, during the investigation, it was learned Rosenthal was considered a missing person out of Gainesville FL.

He also was a candidate for mayor in Gainesville at the time he went missing. It’s also believed that Rosenthal is wanted for questioning for serious crimes in other states.

This is still an ongoing investigation. Rosenthal is being held at Giles County Jail with no bond. Giles County Sheriff’s Office would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who assisted in the investigation: Giles County EMS, Pulaski Police Department, Giles EMA, TBI, and the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office Investigators.
