A Lawrence County Home was lost during an early morning fire Saturday.
Members of Ethridge Fire Department responded to the Weakley Loop property around 5:30 on a report that the residence was full of smoke.
By the time fire crews arrived, the property was fully engulfed in flames. Despite best efforts by firefighters, the home and its contents were deemed a total loss.
The single occupant of the home and her dog were able to escape the fire unharmed. Members of other Lawrence County Fire and Rescue stations, the emergency medical service, sheriff’s department and the American Red Cross assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a heater, however investigation is on-going at the current time.
