Lawrenceburg police officers responded to a case of fraud where the victim reported money being transferred from his bank after fake identity cards were created.

 

Lawrenceburg police officers received a call from a male victim who stated that someone had used his information to create false identity cards to transfer his money in his online bank to another person.

The victim discovered the fraud when he was unable to log into his online bank where he was informed by the bank that his account information including phone number was changed after a fake photo ID, and the last four digits of his social security number was emailed.

Officers obtained the name of the person that $637 of the victim's money was transferred to along with the emails containing the fake identification, and at the time of the report there was no further details pending an investigation.
