Farmer Reports Crop Vandalized
A farmer reported to authorities Wednesday that someone had vandalized his wheat crop located on Blooming Grove Road.
The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that someone had driven a vehicle through his wheat field around 8:30 Tuesday evening.
The victim reported that a family member had confronted two males who had been driving through the field in a four-door Chevrolet truck.
He told deputies he had been able to obtain a license plate number, and that he believed the men had been spot-lighting deer.
The victim said that he did contact officials with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to report the matter.
Loss in the case was estimated to total $1,000.
