Woman Reports Assault At Bar
Law enforcement officers were called upon to investigate during the weekend after a woman reported being assaulted at a local bar.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department spoke with the victim, age 26, after she sought medical attention at Crockett Hospital just before 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
The victim reported she had been at a bar on International Drive the prior evening when a man grabbed her wrist and, “walked her backwards to the door, pushed her outside and punched her in the mouth.”
The victim told deputies that a group of people watched the scuffle outside. She said that another woman approached her, “Trying to fight, pushing her and hitting her.” She told deputies that she did defend herself.
The victim reported that after she left she, “waited to sober up to go to the ER because of her back and shoulder causing her a lot of pain.”
The matter currently remains under investigation.
