“Neighbors Helping Neighbors”

On 11-15-2025 Lawrence County E-911 dispatched Lawrence County Fire Rescue and Lawrence County EMS to a report of a man pinned in a machine by a large tree.
Responders from both agencies worked together to quickly free the trapped patient from the machine. Based off of the initial dispatch information a Heavy Wrecker was requested to the scene to be utilized in the rescue if needed.
Personnel from Lawrence County Emergency Management, and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office provided an emergency escort for the heavy wrecker to the scene. Our personnel were able to free the man before the heavy equipment arrived by utilizing rescue equipment on the scene.
Miraculously the patient was extracted from the machine, and able to walk away with minor injuries. The patient credits God for allowing him to escape the incident alive. We could not agree more.
We are thankful for the teamwork on the scene.
This incident did occur in the Gandy Fire District
