Auto Burglars Believed To Have Used Burglary Tool To Gain Access
Burglars who targeted a vehicle belonging to a Summertown resident last week are believed to have used a burglary tool to gain access.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the Old Highway 43 home on Tuesday. The fifty-one year old victim reported that someone had burglarized his 1994 Honda.
The victim told deputies that at the time of the burglary his vehicle had been locked. Deputies speculate that the culprit used a slim jim tool to gain access. A CD player had been ripped from the console. It was missing along with the victim's green iPod.
Damages and loss were estimated to total around $700. Presently, the case remains under investigation.
