Lawrenceburg police officers conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a local man being arrested on multiple charges that included the man falsely identifying himself.

 

 

A Lawrenceburg police officer was on patrol in the area of 1st Avenue when he observed a motorist traveling in a red SUV run through a stop sign, and that's when the officer iniated a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle explained that he had left his driver's license at an apartment on Jackson Avenue where he had just left from along with giving the officer his name, date of birth, and stated that he did not know his social security number.

The officer agreed to follow the driver to the apartment so he could retrieve his driver's license, but upon arrival the man eventually admitted to the officer that he lied about his identity where it was discovered that the man was actually driving on an expired license.

A warrant was signed for a false report where the male subject was arrested on charges of false report, running a stop, expired driver's license, and expired registration where he was transported to the Lawrence County jail.
