Lawrence County man arrested after CyberTip from NCMEC

LAWRENCE CO., Tenn. (WSMV) - A Lawrence County man has been arrested following a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) began investigating after receiving a CyberTip on Nov. 4 that an account had shared child sexual abuse material.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Summertown. That search produced a cell phone that had child sexual abuse material.

Further investigation showed that 28-year-old Stephen Dyer owned the phone and account.

Dyer was arrested on Nov. 5 by TBI ICAC agents along with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and TBI Criminal Investigation Division special agents.

He has been charged with one count of child exploitation and was booked into the Lawrence County Jail. He is being held there with no bond.
