Lawrenceburg Police Department was dispatched to local business in reference to male subject attempting to use fake $100 bill to pay.

On Wednesday a Lawrenceburg Police Officer responded to a call around 7:34 a.m. of someone attempting to use counterfeit money at Shan's One Stop on West Gaines Street.

Upon arrival the officer spoke with the employee who stated that two men entered the business with a dog and once they approached the counter to pay they were arguing before one of the men handed the employee the fake $100 bill.

The employee informed the man that she could not except the money since it was a fake $100 bill that says copy on both sides, and for motion picture use only.

The male subject did pay with a debt card before leaving the store.

The officer reviewed survillance footage where he was able to identify the male subject, and the fake $100 bill was collected for evidence.

The store did not suffer any loss of money, and there is no further information at this time.
