Lawrence County EMS responded to 533 service calls during October,

transporting 348 patients. According to the department’s monthly report, 46 of those transports were to Maury Regional Medical Center, 16 to North Alabama Medical Center, one to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski, and 22 to other counties.

Crews also recorded 114 refusal-of-care or no-care-required calls, 15 fire standby or law enforcement assistance calls, and 55 canceled or no-patient-found responses. EMS personnel conducted nine community outreach or lifesaving training events throughout the month.

Call volume in October was consistent with both September 2025 and October 2024, with only minor changes. Continuing education for responders included training on ventricular assist device (VAD) patients and carbon monoxide poisoning in preparation for winter.

Community education efforts included career presentations at E.O. Coffman Middle School and CPR/First Aid courses for Lawrence County Corrections staff. EMS crews also provided standby coverage for six football games and other community events.

Additionally, Death Investigators Watkins and Wright attended the Saint Louis University Medicolegal Death Investigation Course, and LCEMS transitioned to a new billing company, EMS-MC, at the beginning of the month.
