Maury County Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle extraction.

On Sunday, 11/2, at 10:47PM units were dispatched to a reported possible MVA on Carters Creek Pike. A single 911 caller heard the accident while outside of their home.

Squad 32 responded immediately and began to check the area. Squad 32 came upon an occupant from the vehicle in the roadway flagging them down.

There was a language barrier but it was apparent there was a second occupant still trapped in the vehicle. Squad 32 immediately went to work with their hydraulic tools to free the entrapped occupant. Maury EMS transported both occupants with possible critical injuries.

The immediate response and quick actions of Squad 32 is another testament to the success of the “live-in” program where volunteers are able to have an apartment at a station to live for free while they respond to calls when not at their full time job.

If you are a trained FF and are interested in a live-in opportunity please email info@maurycountyfiretn.org for further information.
