Security Forced To Deploy Taser At Hospital
Security personnel at the local hospital requested that law enforcement officers be dispatched early Monday morning after they said they were forced to deploy a taser.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Center at around 2:30 a.m. to investigate. Security personnel reported that they had to restrain a twenty year old man after he became extremely agitated.
They reported that the man had pulled an IV from his arm and had attempted to leave the room. They said they restrained him that that he wrestled about with them, trying to hit them. One of the officers said that he had tased the man during the scuffle.
Afterwards, reports show that the man was sedated and restrained to a bed. Reports show that a hospital bed, valued at $20,000, was damaged during the incident.
