Loretto Man Arrested For Bringing Meth To Jail
A Loretto man arrested at his Loretto home early Monday was later charged with bringing methamphetamine to the jail.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show deputies, along with officers of the Loretto Police Department, were attempting to locate thirty-seven year old Brian Keith Gobble around 2:20 a.m. to serve a warrant that had been issued for a parole violation.
They were allowed to enter the apartment he was in and report locating him, “Fully clothed, sitting on the toilet, with a belt tied around his right bicep, holding a syringe which was already fully inserted into (his) right forearm.”
Reports show that Gobble was ordered to “slowly take the syringe out of his arm and place it on the floor of the bathroom.” Deputies report that they explained the consequences of non-compliance and that Gobble did as directed.
Gobble was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center for booking. While there, reports show that two plastic baggies containing a total of 1.5 grams of meth were found in his pocket.
Gobble was booked under the parole violation and was scheduled to be transferred into the custody of the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was additionally charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics for the purpose of resale and introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
He has been scheduled an appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on December 9, 2014.
