Lawrenceburg Man Is Arrested After Fleeing From Police Officer

A Lawrenceburg man was arrested after he allegedly fled from a police officer attempting to conduct a routine traffic stop Monday evening.
According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department, the officer had been on routine patrol around 9:15 p.m. when he noticed a blue and silver motorcycle that had no tail light, traveling along North Locust Avenue
The officer reports that he turned around to pursue the motorcycle but that the driver turned onto Seventh Street. He reported hearing the driver accelerate to a high rate of speed, also noting that the driver neither stopped nor slowed as he drove through the Second Avenue intersection.
The officer indicated that he terminated his pursuit at that time, “Because I did recognize the motorcycle and knew who owned it.”
The officer drove to Good Hope Road to confront the suspect. He said he saw the motorcycle on the roadway and was able to persuade the driver to stop. He then told the driver, Lucas Harrison Daniel, age 20, that he was under arrest.
Daniel was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked on a charge of evading arrest. He was scheduled an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on December 4, 2014.
