Mechanic Fails To Replace Brakes
A Lawrenceburg woman filed a complaint with police officers late last week, indicating that she had paid a man to replace her brakes, but that the work was never done.
The thirty-three year old victim reported the crime to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department Thursday. She said that she had paid an acquaintance to work on her Ford Explorer, including replacement of the rear brake pads.
Afterwards, the victim said she noticed that her brakes were continuing to make noises, just as they had before the work was done. She said she took the car to another mechanic and learned that the brake pads had not been replaced.
The victim said that she believed the man had kept the brake pads and possibly sold them. She said that they had cost her around $50. She told officers that she intends to seek prosecution for the theft.
