Subject: Vehicle Fire

On October 23rd, 2026 at approximately 1:00 PM one of our daytime staffing crews was returning to the station after eating lunch when they observed a cloud of smoke developing in the sky. The crew made the decision to investigate the source of the smoke rather than returning to the station.
While continuing towards the source of the smoke we received a notification from Lawrence County E-911 to respond to the Ethridge Fire district for a report of a semi truck with a refrigeration trailer on fire.
The day crew unit that had initially observed the smoke in the skyline arrived on the scene within 30 seconds of receiving the notification of the fire from dispatch.
The first arriving unit reported that both the semi truck and the refrigerated trailer were on fire. They also reported that the truck and trailer was in close proximity to a structure. The two man crew initiated a fire attack that stopped the progress of the fire. Engine 1 arrived on the scene approximately 4 minutes later, followed by personnel and tanker support from Ethridge, and Leoma Fire Departments as well as one mutual

aid tanker from the City of Lawrenceburg Fire Department. Together, the personnel were able to quickly extinguish the remainder of the fire, and conduct salvage and overhaul operations before returning to service.
The fire was contained to the areas of the semi truck and trailer that were originally on fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
