Public Service Announcement from Sheriff Shane Fisher and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents about fiber-optic cable contractors entering private property without permission.
Tennessee law (TCA 7-59-105) strictly prohibits anyone from installing underground utilities or cables on private property without written consent from the property owner. Violating this law is a misdemeanor offense.
Contractors are only authorized to install underground cables within government-owned property or public rights-of-way.
Sheriff Shane Fisher urges anyone who has witnessed or experienced unauthorized contractors entering their property to report it immediately.
How to report:
• Submit a tip through the Wayne County TN Sheriff’s App (under “Submit a Tip”)
• Call the Sheriff’s Office at (931) 722-3615
• Or contact Dispatch at (931) 722-3613 to request a deputy
Protect your property. Report unauthorized access.
