Giles County Sheriff, Kyle Helton,
gave a statement this morning regarding his decision to resign as Sheriff, “I was offered a position at Homeland Security as a Special Agent.
I planned on retiring in two years and the door opened up and I had to make a decision to go ahead and take the opportunity.
I have been Sheriff for over 18 years and just wanted to thank the folks from Giles County and all the surrounding counties for the support.
The love I have for this area and to be in law enforcement over 35 years just has been an honor and privilege.
” When asked when this would take place, Helton stated, “I report Sunday night and the training will start Monday morning”. Thank you Sheriff Kyle Helton for all of your hard work and dedication over the years serving Giles County.
