Controversial local haunted house, Mckamey Manor, remains operational with a few changes including no actors only the participant against the owner.

Local controversial haunted house, Mckamey Manor, located in Summertown, Tennessee is currently operational with the owner Russ McKamey presenting new "Survival Horror" named "Descent."

Several attempts have been made to shut down the haunted house that has been referred to as a "torture house" with multiple online petitions being created yearly.

According to reports from Russ McKamey the new "Descent" is the next evolution in interactive "survival horror" theater where each tour will be based on the participants personal fears, and can last up to 6 hours.

In previous years the "extreme haunts" could last up to 10 hours with a cash prize of $20,000 being offered to any participant that could complete the haunt, but unfortunately no one ever did.

The new haunt "Descent" still requires a 40-page waiver, doctor’s note, safe word, but there is no longer a cash prize where the owner Russ states that participants can actually beat the haunt.

With "Descent" there are no paid actors it’s just a complete mental game against the participant, and the owner Russ McKamey where the guest will be mentally as well as physically challenged until they reach their breaking point.

Despite all the accusations against McKamey Manor Russ McKamey still remains adamant that his haunted house does not take part in torture, and if he did not only would his haunt be shut down he would also be in jail according to the owner.
