Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched on Sunday in reference to a horse that had been shot.

 

On Sunday Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a residence on Shotwell Road with reports of a horse being shot.

Upon arrival Deputies spoke with the homeowner who stated that sometime around 4:00 a.m. his dogs woke him up barking, but at the time he did not notice anything wrong when he checked his property.

After returning home from church the homeowner stated that sadly his son located their horse deceased on the property from a gun shot.

Located near where the horse was shot .9 millimeter casings were discovered, and an estimated total loss of $1500 was reported.
