General Motors announces nearly $2 billion investment in Spring Hill Manufacturing Plant to build fully electric vehicles.

 

General Motors released an announcement on Tuesday that they will invest nearly $2 billion in its Spring Hill manufacturing plant to build fully electric vehicles, including the new Cadillac LYRIQ.

The Spring Hill plant will now be the first outside of the state of Michigan, and GM’s third electric vehicle manufacturing site where renovations is expected to immediately begin.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee spoke on the announcement where he stated, "GM has announced the largest single expansion investment ever made in TN. TN has been a leader in automotive manufacturing for decades and we are excited that GM is investing nearly $2 billion in Spring Hill to build electric vehicles."
