Officers Asked To Investigate Thursday Burglary Attempt
Law enforcement officers were asked to investigate an attempted burglary at a Smith Avenue home on Thursday.
The resident reported that he and his son had left their home at around 6:45 p.m., returning at 8:20 p.m. to find that someone had attempted to gain entry through the front door. Damage was to the door and frame in the area of the deadbolt. Damages were assessed at $100.
The victim reported that a few nights prior he had heard the sound of breaking glass and found an acquaintance standing inside a room of his home.
He told officers that the man had broken the glass in a window in order to enter. Officers are working to determine whether the suspect had anything to do with the current burglary attempt.
