Demolition took place on the Historic Downtown Square in Lawrenceburg early Sunday morning.

Early Sunday morning Demolition began at the Intersection of East Gaines Street, and North Military in the Historic Downtown Square in Lawrenceburg where the roadway was temporarily closed, and traffic rerouted.

The Historic building which in it's time was a radio station, and a jewelry store was considered
beyond repair or salvaging which resulted in the building being demolished.

Several crews including Doss Brothers worked to safely bring the building down without compromising the live nearby power lines where Lawrenceburg Utility Systems was also at the scene.

The historic structure was safely brought down where Mayor Blake Lay stated that work will continue Monday morning with debris being cleared.

According to reports the Historic building will be replaced with a parking lot, and a green space area with a Welcome sign to the Historic Downtown Square.
