The Giles County Sheriff’s Office has introduced three new members to its team — Amy, Lena, and Zeva, all certified emotional support dogs who recently completed a 13-week training program.
In partnership with the Giles County School System, the dogs will be assigned to local schools to provide support to students and staff.
The department says emotional support dogs play a crucial role in reducing anxiety, minimizing behavioral incidents, and improving attendance.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked Murrey Chevrolet and Pulaski Tractor Supply Co. store #479 for helping launch the program. Those who wish to support the initiative can make checks payable to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, noting “Emotional Support Dog Program” in the memo line.
Donations may be mailed or dropped off directly at the Sheriff’s Office.
