Subject: Media release on shooting death

On 1-16-2023 Lawrenceburg Police Officers were dispatched to Veterans Park in Lawrenceburg
in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered a male subject who was deceased from an
apparent gunshot wound. Lawrenceburg Police Detectives were summoned to the scene and an offender
was quickly identified. The offender was detained by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office at a residence
outside of the city limits. The offender was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder by the
Lawrenceburg Police Department and is currently being held at the Lawrence County Jail on $500,000 bond.
This was not a random incident of violence and there is no threat to the public. Due to the ongoing
Investigation details will be released at a later date.
