Deputies Investigate Separate Incidents Involving Prowlers
Law enforcement officers have initiated investigations into two separate incidents involving persons prowling about a resident’s property.
On Friday, a resident of Paige Road in Ethridge reported that he noticed someone walking across his yard. He told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that the man walked to a white car that was parked in the roadway with the lights off.
He said he confronted the man and that he told him he was, “There to speak with a friend to pay him the money he owed him.” The resident reported that he instructed him to leave the property and that he did so.
On Monday deputies were sent to investigate after a resident of Holloway Street in Summertown discovered a prowler in his yard.
He told deputies that he looked out after hearing the sound of a car door closing and found that a person was standing in his yard. He said that when he went outside and the intruder fled, and that he pursued him on foot.
He said the man ran down the roadway to Dawn’s Family Deli where he got into a car with another person and drove away.
In both incidents the victim was able to identify the persons involved. Both said that they intended to pursue legal action.
