The daughter of Wayne County Sheriff has been arrested on charges of aggravated statutory rape.

According to reports Shayla Ann Fisher, 31, the daughter of Wayne County Sheriff, Shane Fisher, was arrested on Tuesday for charges of aggravated statutory rape.

Shayla was booked into the Wayne County Jail, on a $10,000 bond, but has since been released.

Sheriff Shane Fisher spoke with FOX 17 News where he gave the following statement regarding the arrest:

"She’s afforded the same protections as every defendant and the case will work its way out in court," Fisher said in a phone call. "I don’t condone any illegal activity."
