Explosion reported at Hickman County facility

HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are responding to an explosion that was reported Friday morning at a manufacturing plant in Hickman County.

The incident reportedly took place at the Accurate Energetic Systems plant at the Hickman/Humphreys County line.

The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office took to social media shortly before 8:30 a.m. stating, “Please avoid the area to allow emergency responders to do their work.”

According to the Hickman County EMA director, the explosion was reported at approximately 7:50 a.m., and the main concern at this time is secondary explosions.

In addition, the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office told News 2 that they are on the way to the scene, adding that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have also been called since the business involves explosives.
