Subject: Structure Fire

On Tuesday October 6, 2026 Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the West End Fire District. Initial dispatch information indicated that the structure was heavily involved with fire.

A full alarm response including daytime staffing was initiated immediately. First arriving units found a two car detached garage to be fully involved and endangering a residence, two vehicles, and an occupied dog house.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, and assist in safely extracting a family pet from the dog house that was being endangered by the fire.

The residence and vehicles did sustain some heat damage as a result of the garage fire.
Fire personnel on scene credit the quick actions of bystanders for preventing fire spread to the residence upon their discovery of the fire.
