Lawrenceburg City Council to Meet Thursday

The Lawrenceburg City Council will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Council Meeting Room at the Municipal Complex, 25 Public Square. Anyone wishing to address items on the agenda must sign in before the meeting begins.

On the agenda are two ordinances and several resolutions. Ordinance 1444, on second reading, would amend the Municipal Code, Title 9, to add Chapter 5 on Mobile Vending. Ordinance 1445, on first reading, would rezone property at 212 Pulaski Street, owned by Maria Christensen, from C-3 (General Commercial District) to C-1 (Central Business District) to allow for office space downstairs and a residence upstairs. The change would require a special exception from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Resolutions to be considered include one voiding a previous ordinance authorizing the purchase of four Dodge Durango SUVs for the Police Department and instead approving the purchase of four Ford Interceptor Utility AWD vehicles from Lonnie Cobb Ford of Henderson. Other resolutions would declare certain Police Department property as surplus, authorize an agreement with Govwell for permit system software for the Codes and Zoning Department, authorize the city to apply for a Transportation Planning Grant, and accept a proposal from Poplar Hill Companies for lighting work at the Police Station, 911 Center, and Fire Hall as part of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Lighting Project.
