Home Burglarized While Resident Buys Groceries
Law enforcement officials were asked to initiate an investigation Friday after a man had returned from the grocery store to find that his home had been burglarized.
The victim told officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that he had left his Maple Avenue home earlier to purchase some groceries. Once at the store, he said that he realized he had left his money at home.
The victim said a friend paid for his purchases and when he returned home he went to retrieve some of his cash to repay him. He said he was unable to locate it and began to look around. He discovered that his Acer computer was missing from a bedroom dresser, as well. He estimated his loss to be $836.00.
Officers noted that, although the front door had been secured, an exterior kitchen door had been left unlocked. Investigation in the case is currently on-going.
