Theft Of Cable Service Is Under Investigation
An investigation was begun on Saturday after an employee of Charter Communications discovered services were being illegally obtained at a Mattoxtown Road residence.
The employee reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that while working he drove past the home and noticed a suspicious wire running across the roadway, very close to the ground. He found that the wire had been tied into a tap box on a utility pole and was connected to a camper home across the road.
The employee told deputies that this was not the first incident of theft of services involving the resident. Deputies report that at the time reports were filed they were unable to make contact with the resident. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
