Battalion Chief Shayne Adam completed his final shift at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department after 30 years of service.
On Thursday the Lawrenceburg Fire Department honored Battalion Chief Shayne Adam on his final shift where the Department had this to say about the day:
"Today marks an ending of an Era at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department. At 7:00 this morning Battalion Chief Shayne Adam’s completed his final shift at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department after 30 years of service.
Over his tenure at the LFD Shayne was a blessing to the department, and the citizens. Shayne achieved many things during his career. In fact, it’s too many to list. Most notably Shayne was instrumental in the establishment of the LFD Fire Investigation Division.
As part of the establishment of the division, Shayne completed the Law Enforcement Training academy along with thousands of hours of Fire Investigation Training that resulted in his being vetted as an expert witness as a Certified Fire & Explosives Investigator.
Over the years Shayne assisted local, and surrounding agencies with his expertise in fire investigation, both on scene and with his establishment of the Juvenile Fire Setters program.
This program was put into place to rehabilitate, and prevent future incidents involving juveniles who had been involved in setting fires at a young age.
For the past several years Shayne worked as a Battalion Chief, where he lead Shift 3. Shayne was known for taking care of his shift like they were his own family, while at the same time demanding the highest level of performance while on duty.
We are thankful for Shayne’s service, but most importantly we are thankful for his friendship, and love. Please join us in congratulating Shayne on his retirement, and his future.
