Identity Of Local Man Used To Obtain Medical Services In Johnson City
Law enforcement officers opened an investigation last week after a local man discovered that someone had used his identity to obtain medical services in Johnson City.
On Tuesday a thirty-two year old Rosier Road man reported that he had made the discovery while checking his credit history. He told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that while running a credit check on himself, he discovered outstanding debt with Revenue Recovery Corporation for services rendered at Johnson City Medical Center.
When he contacted the medical center the victim learned that a man had used a passport card bearing his personnel information as identification while obtaining services on February 22, 2014. Hospital personnel said they believed that the man lives in Bristol, Tennessee and provided a possible place of employment.
The victim said that hospital personnel removed his name from the debt, but that he needed a copy of the police report to forward to Revenue Recovery so that his name would be cleared there, as well.
Investigation in the matter is on-going at the present time.
