Former Maury County Deputy has been arrested on charges of rape, and child abuse.

According to news reports from Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland confirmed that former Deputy Hunter Reed, 24, was arrested on felony charges of child abuse, neglect, and rape.

An investigation began into Reed following allegations against the former deputy from information relayed to the Columbia Police Department and the Maury County Sheriff's Department.

As a result of the investigations arrest warrants were issued for Reed along with the deputy being dismissed from his position at the Maury County Sheriff's Department.

At this time no further details have been released were all queries are being referred to the District Attorney's Office.
