Identity Used To Obtain Services In Indiana
A local woman has asked law enforcement officers to investigate the fact that her identity has been used to obtain services in Indiana.
The resident, age 74, told officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that her identity had been used to obtain electric service as well as television service from Comcast in Kokomo, Indiana.
She said that she became of the situation after receiving a notice by mail from a collection agency, attempting to collect funds for the Comcast bill.
The victim told officers that she ran her credit history and discovered that there was also an outstanding balance in her name where someone had obtained electrical service. Altogether, she said that the culprit had racked up $660 in unpaid debt using her name.
The victim said that she believed the crime may have been committed by a relative. Investigation in the matter is continuing.
