The City of Columbia proudly recognizes September as National Service Dog Month!

Service dogs provide life-changing support and independence to people with disabilities, empowering them to live fuller, more inclusive lives.

 

Mayor Chaz Molder has proclaimed September 2026 as Service Dog Month, recognizing the incredible work of service dogs and organizations like Canine Companions and inviting the community to celebrate the independence, companionship and support these remarkable dogs provide.
