The Giles County Sheriff's Department are warning residents about increasing scams reported.

 

According to the Giles County Sheriff's Department the reports of scams are increasing where residents should me mindful to use caution when speaking with unknown numbers, or making purchases online. 

The Sheriff's Department has shared on their social media page a link to the Federal Trade Commission where complaints can be filed.

The Giles County Sheriff's Department had this to say regarding the increased scams:

"We are doing our best to investigate each complaint to the fullest. Please remember, if it "seems to good to be true", then it more than likely is a scam. Multiple reports have been received concerning people requesting payment in the form of electronic cards such as "eBay cards". This is a red flag. Please only use reputable payment forms."
